Any ITIL 4 certificate is a valid prerequisite for every ITIL (Version 5) advanced module. Designations upgrade through one module.
Go straight to any advanced module. Optional: the 1-day ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5) for the Version 5 Foundation certificate.
Leads to ITIL Practice Manager (Version 5). One pass also upgrades ITIL 4 Strategic Leader, if you hold it.

ITIL v3 Foundation and Intermediate certificates are not accepted as prerequisites. ITIL v3 Expert and Master holders take the Managing Professional Transition.

ITIL (Version 5) certificates are issued with a 3-year renew-by date.

Log 20 CPD points per year for 3 consecutive years through PeopleCert Plus membership.

Pass another ITIL certification. All ITIL certificates, ITIL 4 included, form one product suite.

Retake the same certification.
Passing any ITIL (Version 5) exam also renews your ITIL 4 certificates.
